New Orleans, a city recognized for its delicious cuisine and never ending night-life, has recently incorporated a rapidly growing, popular addition to it’s food industry; the food truck. Among this swiftly populating sector, Rollin Fatties has become the premier destination for flavorful, healthy cuisine with vegan options. Still in its freshman year, Rollin Fatties owners and New Orleans natives, Isaiah “Zella” Daste and Trevor Young have already partnered their cuisine with Tulane and Loyola Universities, several film production companies, The Imperial Trading Corporation, The Saenger Theatre, and local bar venues all by word of mouth.
They have entitled their style of food as “World-Mex,” which includes ‘The Fattie Burrito’, ‘Fattie Rice Bowls’, ‘Loaded Nachos’, ‘Tacky Tacos’, and a growing menu of fun-named, great tasting items . While they serve up hearty yet healthy meat options such as chipotle chicken and Pan seared tilapia; Jamaican Jerked Tofu is also on the menu.
Dishes are served with an option of black beans, Basmati rice, red cabbage slaw, and pico de gallo. They’re also known for their variety of outstanding sauces including West African Peanut, Red Thai Curry, Creole Tomato, Jamaican Jerk and Cilantro Lime Cream.
Their worldly twist on Mexican food has become a staple in their business, while remaining true to the New Orleans tradition of tasty comfort cuisine along with NOLA’s new school healthful twist.
